Halloween Books for your little Monsters!

Can you believe it's September? Where in the world did this year go? I will admit that Fall is by far my favorite time of the year. The holidays, the family time and just the weather in general.  There is something very magical about it about this time of year in so many ways.  So, you shouldn't be surprised that we are bringing you some of our favorite Halloween Books for your little Monsters.

We wanted to get it out to you in plenty of time to find some of your favorites to enjoy in October.

While Amazon has always been my go-to online I LOVE bookstores. There is something very special about walking into a bookstore or library. It's like fantasy and wonder around every corner and because of that, I love to promote Barnes and Noble because I hope that true bookstores never go away and by supporting them we help ensure those amazing stores don't go away. The other two perks with Barnes and Noble is that they offer sales, discounts and free shipping to you without you having to be a member or pay a fee to get it AND they are on Ebates offering cash back on your purchase. If you don't have Ebates already check it out here! It's free and you get cash back!

Little Blue Trucks Halloween by Alice Schertle - The Little Blue Truck Books are some of my favorite and they are such a great series of stories. It's a board book with flaps for your little one to peek in and see whatever everyone has dressed up like this year!

Little Blue Truck's Halloween by Alice Schertle, Jill McElmurry Beep! Beep! It’s Halloween! Little Blue Truck is picking up his animal friends for a costume party. Lift the flaps in this large, sturdy board book to find out who’s dressed up in each costume! Will Blue wear a costume too?

He and his friends will carve a jack-o'-lantern, bob for apples, and go trick-or-treating! But there is one problem-Corduroy needs to choose a costume. What will he wear?

Curious George Haunted Halloween (CGTV Reader) by H. A. Rey - Hang on to your hats! George gets spooked when he spends his first Halloween in the country and hears the legend of No Noggin—a headless scarecrow that kicks people’s hats off on Halloween! The man with the yellow hat tells George it’s just a legend, but with the help of his friends Allie and Bill, George is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery and find out once and for all if No Noggin really exists. This early reader features a festive bonus activity for even more Halloween fun with George!

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat! by Lucille Colandro, Jared Lee - This spooky twist on the wildly popular "There Was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly" is perfect for fun Halloween reading! What won't this old lady swallow? This time around, a bat, an owl, a cat, a ghost, a goblin, some bones, and a wizard are all on the menu! This Halloween-themed twist on the classic "little old lady" books will delight and entertain all brave readers who dare to read it!

How to Catch a Monster by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton - If you have never read any of Adam and Andys How to Catch books you are missing out! Your children will just love them and beg you to read them over and over again. There catch an Elf, a Leprechaun, and the Easter Bunny so be sure to check out their entire series. If you haven't already... make sure you start out with this Monster!

How to Catch a Monster by Adam Wallace, Andy Elkerton Is there a monster living in your closet? Are you brave enough to catch him? Parents and children will love sharing this fun and inventive picture book, which reminds us that things aren't always as scary as they seem.

Pete the Cat: Trick or Pete by James Dean - No home library is complete without a few Pete the Cat books in it! Pete loves Halloween and candy but not so many scary surprises. Follow Pete as he goes trick-or-treating from house to house and discovers what is waiting behind each door. With over ten flaps that open to reveal fun spooky surprises, this book is spooktacular!

The Berenstain Bears Trick or Treat by Stan Berenstain, Jan Berenstain - You know I'm a big fan of the classics. These characters are timeless and something your children will always enjoy! It’s Halloween and Brother and Sister can’t wait to go trick-or-treating with all of their friends, but when someone in the group encourages the kids to play a trick, things don’t go as planned. Includes over 50 bonus stickers!

Pink or Treat! (Pinkalicious Series) by Victoria Kann - Pinkalicious can’t believe it: The mayor has canceled Halloween because a storm has knocked out the town’s power. No Halloween means no Halloween candy. No Halloween jack-o’-lanterns. No Halloween trick-or-treating. No Halloween holiday parties. And worst of all, no Halloween costumes. Pinkalicious has the perfect Pinkagirl costume and she absolutely has to wear it.

The Night Before Halloween by Natasha Wing - Another amazing series of books! They are so much fun to read and you can almost hear the Night Before Christmas rhythm in your head while you read. Little monsters and goofy goblins prepare for Halloween in a silly, spooky spin on Clement C. Moore's "Night Before Christmas." A bewitching adventure for children.

Halloween Mice! by Bethany Roberts, Doug Cushman - The Mice books by Bethany Roberts is always a winner so be sure to check them all out but for now... How about Halloween Mice?!  Mice whirling in the moonlight, having a party on Halloween night, are threatened by an approaching cat until they come up with an ingenious trick to scare him off.

There is no shortage of really great Halloween books so be sure to head over to Barnes and Noble or your favorite bookstore and grab a few.
